New Year, New Start

Happy new year all!
I know its been such a long time since ive put anything on here but i think now its a good time to start over again.

So im gona go for a different feel to my page now and introduce you to myself rather than just sticking to my alter ego.
I do enjpy being Cyclopse Zigzag but i love being myslef more!!
My real name is Neal.

As its the new year i was thinkig about the year just gone and what the year ahead will bring. I believe you should never wait for things to happen or to come to you. You should make them happen! Nobody else but you can do it. Last year i achieved a few things i had set out to do, but this year i want to set myslef goals and acheive them all. My number 1 thing this year is to get fit. I started last year but due to certains things i didnt continue with it, and i was really gutted that i couldnt do it.  February 1st  this year i will start exercise and change my diet. and i WILL do it.
Every year i make myself a mood board. Some people call them dream boards but i dont like to call it that because it implies all the things you put on it are just a dream, and in that case wont happen, they are just dreams. You guys call it whatever you want. Goal board, achievment board, whatever but mood board works for me. My mood board this year is all about getting fit. There is no more room on it, its purely fitness. Every morning i get up, its the first thing i see. It reminds me what my goal is, and helps me keep foucused. Its hard to stay focused on things thses days with work, and other things goin on around you. You might say to yourself, im going to save up and buy that car i want. Then you get busy with life and forget about it and spend money  on pointless things which you could save for that car. Its just a thought that pops into your head now and then and makes you think 'oh yeah, i must save for that car at some point'. You know what will happen??? you wont get the car, and you wont save. If you put a picture of the car you want on your board and place it where you will see it every day, it will remind you thats what you want and it makes you happy, and your more likely to get it because its staring you in the face every day when you get up, reminding you that this is your goal for the year.
How many of us set ourselves resoloutions every year and never achieve what we set out to do. Its gets to the end of the year and you probably cant remember what they even  were.
Another thing ive learnt to help me achieve my aims is to use a rule called the 'Help or Hurt' rule. You use this rule before you make a decision about somthing when it comes to your goal. For instance, going back to saving up for a car. If you were walking through a shopping centre and you saw somthing in the window of a shop that caught your eye and you thought you want to buy it, you shoud use the 'Hurt or Help' rule. Will buying this item HELP me get to my goal quicker (i.e  getting my new car) or will it HURT me (i.e make you have to wait longer because you could save that money instead)
I hope that makes sence lol.
It got me thinking about other peoples New Year resoloutions. Id like to know what other goals people have set themselves for this year. So feel free to  comment or send me a message on my facebook. Would love to hear from you guys :)

Manchester!!!

This weekend I will be working in Manchester! I will be helping educate hairdressers on new techniques in cut, colour, and style. It is such an honour to be working alongside some amazing, inspirational people.
I’m really looking forward to getting back into the education side of my work. I love the rush you get when you show somebody something new or different that they may have not necessarily have thought of themselves. I always come away from these events feeling very motivated and I find that even though I am teaching, I learn things too. ‘Teacher Learns Most!’ Constant training and education is a massive part in hairdressing, as trends change and products and styles are continuously updated. It is important to keep up to date what is going on, no only in the world of hair, but with fashion too.

I’m very excited to see some of my friends who I work along side with at these inspirational workshops, and
I cant wait to do more of these vents throughout the year!

I have been working at these educational events for 3 years now and its just an incredible experience. I have included a video of an event I worked at last year just so you guys can see what kind of thing we get up to on these workshops!

I’m not even sure whereabouts I am going to be in Manchester, or how many we will be educating. All I know is there will be a team of roughly 20 of us, and we will be teaching a colouring technique and a disconnected haircut which uses the primary shapes (circle, square, triangle) and graduation, layering and one length all in one haircut!

So if anyone is in Manchester on Saturday night feel free to get in touch! I might be near you!

Champagne Thursday

So tonight I have been to one of the highlights of my week which is the famous Champagne Thursday! It really is an amazing evening.
Champagne Thursday is and evening myself and another of my best friends came up with. I’m not even sure how it began. We would get together every week, play a few tunes on the piano and do a bit of singing, and at the same time have a bottle of champagne. After a few weeks this became a regular thing and as it was usually on a Thursday. We decided to call it champagne Thursday. It does sound a bit pretentious but actually its just a nice evening with great music, even better company, random conversions and of course, champagne.
A champagne Thursday isn’t complete without at least one song from Vanessa Carlton from the fantastic album ‘Ben Not Nobody’ . I do love this album, and I forget how old it is until I hear it again. Its hard to think that this album is 9 years old. I remember listening to it when I was younger. Cant believe how time fly.
Another thing about champagne Thursday. It would not be complete without a little bit of pole dancing. We always do have a play on the pole. I actually do not and cannot do pole dancing, but it is a good laugh. My friends are very good at it though and it is brilliant to see them hold their body around a pole holding them selves up just by their legs. Its not an easy thing to do, but it does look amazing.
And finally, to finish off the evening we do have to have at least one Disney song on. At the moment it is either a track from ‘The Little Mermaid‘, ‘The Lion King‘, or The Princess and the Frog‘. This week we listened to ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’ sang by Ursula the sea witch on ‘The Little Mermaid’ This has to be my favourite Disney film of all time.
Anywayzzz, it is getting late and I have a busy day tomoz. Thanx for checking in. Please do become a follower. Would make me happy
Ciao!

Welcome to my blog!!!

As this is my first blog I wanted to quickly introduce my self and tell you a bit about me.
So my alias is Cyclops Zigzag. Obviously that is not my real name. It’s a name I was given by my friends who said that when I do the make up, the hair, and wear unusual things I turn into a different person . So my Alter Ego was created , and here I am!
Now I’m creating a blog because I love meeting new people. All different kinds of people and what better and quicker way to get in touch with people than the internet. I will be updating and adding new posts quite regular about anything and everything. From my day to day life, to new fashions, world news and music. But I also want to hear from you guys. Your opinions on the topics I’m going to cover. As I said I am fascinated by people and want to know other peoples views on things I feel passionate about.
So another little thing about me, I’m a hair designer, and I have a huge passion for my work. Its an amazing industry to be in and I am thankful everyday that I get to do a job that is so rewarding. Its artistic, I can be creative, and best of all I get to meet wonderful people! It’s a job I wasn’t sure I wanted to do, but 8 years on and I’m thrilled I actually have a job that I love. I also work on an Artistic Education Team and get to travel around the county. So you never know I might be in an area near you at some point!
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, and please become a follower!! Thanks Guys
